Side mirror removal

How hard is it to remove the side mirrors? Anyone have a step-by-step procedure? I will have my car stored in the garage 99% of the time this winter and I was thinking about dropping off my mirrors at a friends bodyshop and have him to paint them torch red when he has some free time this winter. Any special tools needed? Thanks

Here are some instructions to do Muth signal mirrors. Just use the part of the instructions to remove the mirrors. http://www.muthco.com/techsupport/pdfs/21001140.pdf

You can definitely paint them. I've seen them but to be honest, I think Midwest Mirror Inserts give a better look. Matter of taste. Good luck.

Follow the directions above and before you start sanding, remove the glass from the assembly. Also sand the mirrors smooth for a shiny finish. Otherwise the texture will dull the appearance.

The Sail Panel and Switch removal is unclear.
Do they just pull/pry off?
