You'll need to pull the front bumper cover and do some minor wiring to the power block by the battery. Also, you'll need to mount a couple of relays and the ballasts for each fog/headlight. (I have four ballasts mounted)

All in all it's not too hard of a project, you will just need a bit of time to decide where to mount the ballasts (tip: the headlight buckets have extra room) and drill the holes accordingly.

As far as tools go you'll need a ratchet, 8mm, 10mm, 13mm sockets, a drill, a panel puller, and some hardware and zip ties.

I'd rate the job about a 3 on the scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest.

The mod is WELL worth it!!

For my fog light retrofit, I did not have to remove the bumper cover. I only had to remove the radiator cover, held on by plastic clamps, and unscrew two bumper cover screws to access the fog bulbs. The ballasts were powered directly by the original H10 socket that the factory bulbs were plugged into.

But yeah, well worth it. I definately want to upgrade the driving lights too now, because my factory HIDs suck compared to these aftermarket bulbs.

What temp is on the whiter side of the HID spectrum? 4300k? I'd prefer white over a tint of blue.

hi jonco, i would say 6000 is color you would like. 4300 is what we see every day on benz and bmw's.

i like 6000 because its truly whiter.

All HIDs will have a tint of blue. Even my factory HIDs, which look yellow/white also have a tint of blue from certain angles.. the blue tint is just an inevitable result of the arc being hottest and brightest near the terminals, and glowing blue in that region of the bulb.

If you want white, I say go with 4300K HIDs. They will be, in my opinion, as white as you can get. There will be a blue tint as a result of the way HIDs work, but the light will be overall white.
