My order is scheduled to come in sometime in the next 2 weeks!!! So exciting. It'll be a black V6 with pearl gold side panel stripes. The question: should I keep em' or have the dealer remove it? Just curious what the folks here think about it. Some days I think I'm fine with it. Other days I think I would be happier (long term) without the stripes. Any thoughts???

Just got mine Friday. (Torch Red V-6 Prem. 'vert w/ black stripes). I'm thinking of yanking 'em, because I'm not 100% thrilled with the factory design. I'd also like second opinions.

For some reason, I think they look better on the coupé (maybe even in combination with the Shelby stripes). The vert has a more modern look than the "retro" coupé, but that's just my opinion...

Ended up pulling the stripes today. Car was warm in the sun, amazed how easily they came off (less than 3 minutes both sides, no hair dryer, etc)

I'm thinking of doing white skunk stripes over the top and leaving the rocker stripes off.

Just my opinion. I like them both. (Gold on black, Black on red.) Adds class and a bit of nostalgia without being too retro. Besides, Mustangs have had those stripes for over 40 years now.

Our Redfire V-6 had the black stripe, which was almost too dark on the Redfire paint, so I removed it after I put a set of Bullitts on her. It looks OK either way, but without it, I don't need to use a toothbrush to remove any wax on the edges of the tape stripe letters.

I may put an actual classic style set back eventually (in white rather than black, I think that combo on bright red is nicer).

The classic style (thick center w/ thin upper and lower stripes) is more appealing to me than the stock '05 stripe (2 medium stripes merging through the central area)

Like you, I was not thrilled w/ the "new stripe" and pulled it after the first week. I am waiting to see the 06' stripe, and may add it depending on the color options. My mineral grey did not look good w/ blk stripes (IMHO).

I really liked the strpies on the v6. When we got our GTvert, I was thinking it needed something on the rocker panels. But now I am not to sure. She is so clean, and shines since Steve put on the zano. I have seen other car art all ready. I saw a sonic Blue with white running ponies on the side with dust curl that ran to the back of the rocker panel. I thought it was a bit much. But I do like factory stripes.

I was with you I just paid 280 to have the side stripes that are on the V6s put on my GT for me I love them, black stripes on the Mineral Grey with a black convert. top really looks good, but some may disagree, But it's my baby and she looks so good! I love my new car!!! Can you tell I just picked her up today, I'll stop since I already have a seperate post for this, but BOT: I like the stripes enough to spend 280 on. Do what makes you happy and what you like is all I can suggest.

The stripes I am sure look great. We haven't decided on what to do. I would love to see pictures of your's.

It is so great to have people who love this car as much as I do.

I have to add my two cents, side by side shots of stripes and no stripes:

see there I was debating whether or not to get the racing stripes, I thought that with the side stripes the racing stripes may have been too much so I finally decdided not to get them but darn they look good together..SHHHHWEEEEETTT!!!!!! So now I'm back and forth again. Here's my situation with the top up my top is black and I alreadyhave side stripes black so the racing stripes would be a thick black. So what's some opinions on this would it be to over powering with the black Vert Top, black side stripes, and thick black racing stripes over powering the mineral grey????? Your opinions are appreciated. Donka.
But darn these two are sweet.
