Labor was just under $300 to install/retrofit the car and $300 to paint the bumper. I sure didn't plan to spend this much when I started, but it sort of snowballed. I did use ford's 90 days no interest offer on the parts and labor which helped a lot.
I went by a dealer in Laurel Maryland friday , I saw a 06 torch GT with a shaker and CDC chin spoiler. The Dealer markup on those two mods was .......$2930.00. I left the dealer and ordered my car from another.

Oh yea there were 5 burnout patches in front of the showroom.

I'm wondering... does this actually make Rob's longer? Or is that an optical illusion?

Come to the MCA National show this coming April! We want a HUGE turnout and I would like to see as many TMS members as possible. Oklahoma is about as centrally located as you can get.

Rob, once again, everything turned out great!

Awesome job on the Shelby conversion! I really look the front end on the Shelby and it looks even better in Tungsten with the stripes.

I can see why a few people nearly went off the side of the road when you drove it home.

Do the over priced vents really vent or is it just for show? If they really vent how to you keep water from getting all over the engine? Thank you for the info, I am considering this hood right now.

They actually vent. I've read several atricles about the Shelby and why the Ford engineers put the vents in the hood. First, they opened up the grill and removed the fogs from the grill to allow more air to the 500hp engine, in doing this they wanted all of the air coming in to be able to escape as well as cool engine compartment. This is what I have read in two separate articles. One was a mag. article and one was online. If I can remember exactly where they are I'll post it. If anyone has any other information or if my information is incorrect please post.

As far as water getting on the engine. I haven't washed it yet, but I can tell you that nothing will keep water from getting to the engine. I wash my engine every time I wash my car so it's no big deal to me. Also I think you would have to spray water directly into the vents to get a lot of water into the engine bay. I hand wash and hand dry so again I'm not concerned with that issue of the vents.

The car looks great! What mods do you plan for the future? Wheels?, engine upgrades etc? You will have people asking if it is live or memorex heh heh! Long live the clones!

yeah... I believe they're heat extractor vents... as opposed to scoops... wind flows out of the vents and blows over the windshield... so water getting in while you're driving is a non-issue... but if you can't deal with water spots in between washing... I'd imagine there are other hoods out there.
looks great by the way Rob.... I have a TG GT.. wanna do mine? You can write it off on your taxes.

Looks very good!

What about the cost of hood paint and the stripes? Did the fenders require a blend?

Hood was an additional $300.00 to paint and the painted stripes set me back $1400.00. Sorry I didn't include that earlier. And that price did include blending the fenders. I wasn't going to do stripes yet, but it was way cheaper to do them now with a new hood and new front bumper than to go back and do them several months down the road. I can't say enough about Mustang Collision Center. I've gotten to know the owner very well and he is a Mustang GT owner too. The stripes have very sharp, crisp lines and in most places you can't feel the stripe under the clear coat. I highly recommend them to anyone in the central Oklahoma area. Plus it's cool to say you had your stang painted at the "Mustang" Collision Center

Vent Question

First, car looks awesome! I saw the real GT500's at the mid-america show in Tulsa, your car looks every bit as good. What are the vents made of, plastic, aluminum? Thank you.

I like it. I just wonder how it will look on a stock nose? Thank you for the info, I will put it on the top of the hood list.
