Shaker hood question

What is the width of the CDC Shaker Hood Scoop? Could I also see some closeup pics of the scoop as well. Thanks

that trimmed cover looks great to me- I always kinda worried about trapping heat around the intake- plus I like to see the engine

to the OP- I'm pretty certain all these setups use the exact same scoop- its a ford cast aluminum part made for the 03 mach1. there was a company making fiberglass shaker scoops, but Ive never seen one...

for ours, ended up getting a fang hood/shaker- but bolted the scoop to their 'mach1' blockoff plate. it still blows thru the hollow hood chamber to their airbox, but leaves more room under the hood (still hoping for a blower someday).
Had to mold some 'glass standoffs to the plate, mill some off the front bosses of the scoop, make a backing plate 'ring' / neoprene seal to seal the scoop to the hood, took a little longer than anticipated, but it worked out OK... and should clear a K-B

I would have gone out and taken pics of mine, but it would be flat out over the top embarrassing compared to how clean those engine bays are. I hate you guys.

Will this hood work if you have a factory scoop? I heard rumor that it wouldn't.........

It won't cover the two rear holes that hold the scoop on. You would have to get them filled and the hood repainted.

STL-GT: where did you get the shaker with the "281" on the side? Did you trim out the plastic shield over the valve covers? What'd you use to trim it?

On the badges, D'prived is spot on. Check out Autobadges at the link he posted.

On the shroud, yes I did trim quite a bit of it so it wouldn't hide the valve covers and trap all the heat underneath it. I basically taped off the line I wanted to cut, used a dremel to make the cut and used self-adhesive door molding around the edge to hide the cut edge. TacoBill has some great information on how he trimmed his shroud here:

I'll put a vote in for the shaker. I love mine! The Foose hood and the 281 emblem really add some style to it. I have not shaved mine down on the inside, but I like the look and have considered it.
