Saleen Alum Hood Installed!
Finally, after a year and half of ownership, I broke down and bought some "show." Put on the GT500 spoiler, and had Hardcore Mustangs paint and install the Saleen alum hood. The paint is cobalt blue over pace car blue--dark at some angles, light with metallic flakes at others. Already getting a lot of looks! Thanks Ernie and gang at Hardcore Mustangs in San Diego! Couldn't be happier...Hardcore really took their time with the post paint work, and it shows. Thanks!

yeah the hood will work with the MRT hood stuts. Think "stock aluminum" hood (which honestly is supert light and awesome). It is a bit spendy. From Saleen you are looking at 1500; I paid 1100 just for the hood. YES it is more than say getting a fiberglass hood, but it is a ton lighter, and when you close the hood, is sounds and feels stock, which is what I am going for....and it mates my blower perfectly!

If you ever get a chance, I'd love to see some pics from under the hood. Mainly how the heat extractors vent out, and what provisions are in place for water (rain, car washes, etc.) drainage.
