Is there a safe way to remove the GT emblems on the fenders? The thing is I need to put them back on as well. Stupid body shop scuffed up the paint around the emblems while they were repainting the car. The only way I can buff out all the scratches is by removing the GT emblems. Any safe way to do this? I need to put them back on as well...

I used about four long strands of unwaxed dental floss to cut the tape behind the emblem. It takes quite a bit of pressure but works pretty well. Don't forget that there are two pins that you will run into and have to work around. Good luck!

You can also use a hair dryer to loosen the tape.

Using some type of "string" will leave a lot of the tape on the car.
You're better off heating it and pulling it off.

Like StangNut said....heat and gentle lifting pressure working from one side across did it for me....didn't leave a mark on the paint or any adhesive left behind.

And the emblems are pretty cheap too. If you mess up the adhesive, buy new ones. It's not worth having the emblem sitting there not properly secured.

When they replaced my drivers side door, they had to repaint about halfway down the front and rear fenders, so the GT emblem had to come off. The new one was only billed at $18 if my memory is correct. I kept the old one of course!
