Scott, thanks for the tips. I may do the sealant... and if I do, I'll PM you.
I like the 69/70 look. My car has cues from '65 to '69 Shelby Mustangs. I think it's better to take bits and pieces from different years, rather than be limited to just one year. There are no rules to making this car resemble a SE of old. Just do whatever you feel will look good while keeping to a certain theme.

Scott tried to seal it, and then it ended up coming loose. As of right now, nobody has come up with a way to seal it that will hold 100%.
I look at it like this... when you put on 1/4 window louvers, or a ducktail spoiler, they just attach on with the 3M tape and are not sealed. All small accessory pieces like that (even the stock spoiler, as well as all the stock body pieces) are attached to each other with a small gap, or shadow line, between them. I think it looks perfectly fine. Even the stock hood scoop that came on the 99-04 GT's looks like that.
I really don't think there is a need to seal the hood scoop to the hood with a bead of caulk. The only reason why Scott, and I, wanted to do that was because we were having problems with it staying down. If you aren't going to make the scoop functional and are just going to lay it on top of the hood, it's not going to lift up any. I had it that way for weeks without a problem. It was only after I cut the hole in the hood that the scoop started lifting up because of the air coming into the engine bay. I have a solution to that and would be happy to share it with you if you do plan to make your scoop functional. My scoop stays in place now. It doesn't lift more than maybe a 16th of an inch in the front when I take it over 80-90 on the interstate.
I am 99% satisfied with the scoop as of right now. The only problem I have is depending on how hot or cool it is, the scoop wants to buckle a little towards the middle because the material is fairly flexible. It's hardly noticeable... just an 1/8 of an inch or so. As soon as I get some free time, I'm going to take the scoop off and just make the bolt holes in the hood a tiny bit bigger front to back... to allow for some minor movement of the scoop.

Not the cheapest solution for those wanting to make it functional, but could you put a CDC shaker under it... perhapes with the intake cover part of the shaker removed just so the hood comes down and seals on the CDC intake.
