Report on Silverstar Parking Light Bulbs

I put in Sylvania Silverstars in my headlights and foglights. They look great. Nice and white, nice and bright. But, I also sprang for Silverstar parking light bulbs 3157A/ST. $10 a pair from AutoBarn.

I have a daytime running light module that turns on the parking lights, and I thought the Silverstars might make them a little brighter. Unfortunately, the Silverstars have a special coating to make them shine amber, so all you get is a light about as bright as stock but much more amber. Not what I wanted. So, I put the stock bulbs back in.

Headlight and foglight bulbs, well worth it. Parking light bulbs, not worth it.

I wasn't aware they made Silverstars for our headlights yet. Do you have a link to where I can buy them?

Yes, they are available as H13ST and the fog lights are available as 9145ST. I got mine at the local AutoZone. I think they should be available at most of the big chain auto parts stores. They should also be viewable on the Sylvania website for a quick look. I don't know if you'll want to buy them off the web, you'll have to pay shipping.

They just hit the market in the last few weeks. Have them in my car, very happy with them.

So far, in the Northeast only Autozone carries them. The guys at Pepboys didn't even have them on the computer.

Thanks for the update. I have them in my fogs and have been waiting for them to come out for the headlights. Looks like I'll have to stop buy the local autozone.

Tried the LED's, put the factory ones back in. these things are the same thing I use in my outdoor lighting only a few watts brighter.
