Replacement 18" tires

I know there have been 1000s of threads on this, but I have to ask anyway.

I'm at 22000 on my stock BFG KDWs 235/50ZR18s, and they tread is gone. I was looking at getting a new set this weekend, and the dealer wanted $705 for a new set. I was thinking of maybe getting a little bit wider size on the back. Nothing too crazy, like maybe 245s or 255s. I'd kinda like to stick with the BFG KDWs just because that is what was on teh car. Would I have any problems or concerns with doing this? The car is bone stock. Any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance!

running a 255/45/18 will be just fine and still be very close to stock height. Plus will give you a bit more tire on the road.

255/45's is great on all four corners on these cars. The 235's are almost too narrow on a 8.5" wide wheel and make your rims susectable to curb damage.

Could always get the Nitto redlines, they only come in one size to fit our 18's. Make it look like a big Hot Wheels car

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...27&rd=18&ar=45

If you're not driving it in snow, I would get the KDW 2's with the flame pattern, but they be expensive

The stock ones are only 100 each at tirerack.com

Are 255/45-18's going to cause any problem with clearance or rubbing when the fronts are turned all the way to lock?

Absolutely not! They should have come from the factory set-up like this. Some people run 275's up front without issues.

I am hooked on the redlines. With my car having no outside mods other then what you will be able to see hanging out like brakes and exhaust-it will have blackout windows, a legend splitter, and fanblades, I think the tires will make it look exactly like a full-size Hot Wheels car. def have it in the plan book.

Its one of those mods with my reaction being, 'those are friggin stupid....hmm...actually, that might be the coolest thing I have ever seen now that I think about it'
