Removing Vinyl Stripes
So I find a Torch Red Mustang that was a 98% match to the one I ordered that didn't get built.
Bad thing is that the dealer installed narrow (9") continuous width black stripes.
Not that they are put on bad, just that I like the stripes that are wider and are tapered toward the front like the original Shelby versions.
So what I need to know is how hard are vinyl stripes to remove? My gut reacton is that I should pass on this one.

The stripes are not that hard to remove,If you can get the car for a good price and if it's what you want, I say go for it. see if the dealer will have them removed for you,If you was to purchase the car? that way they would have to make shure it was done right.
Vinyl stripes are very easy to remove. You can pick them off with your fingernail. It is easier to let them get hot. Either leave your car out in the hot sun, or use a hiar dryer to heat them up. They should come off fairly easily.
I've seen a couple of Stangs around here with the cheap dealer stripes. Skinny and unfinished. They stop at the end of the hood or just the top of the bumper. Makes it look incomplete :notnice: .

If you take a blow dryer to them and get them hot enough , then just peel the vinal off, It will leave the glue on the car ,so you will have to take a adhesive remover to get it off,But thats not hard to do. any way the reason I suggested to have the dealer do it is,they would have to warranty the paint on the car. any way good luck!
ya, like the others have stated. You can remove them with a hairdryer. Only concern would be if they cut the ends using an xacto knife while the stripes were on the car. They may have cut into the paint. I would tell the dealer the only way you want the car is for them to remove the stripes. That way you don't have any surprises afterwards
