Thumbs up

Well I don't know much about body work, but I'd imagine it's not easy to take the spoiler off and avoid leakage. So what sort of options are out there?

It looks like some aftermarket options will be available, but what would be involved with that? WOuld you have to get a whole new trunk lid? Would you be painting that to match?

Thanks,
Dennis.

Good question. I am guessing that there will be holes from the spoiler. As far as filling them in with something and matching paint I dunno. That is why I wonder if it is smarter to order with the spoiler delete and if you don't end up liking any aftermarkets you can always order one from Ford, but how much would that cost I wonder???????

If you have an eye for details and some experience, you can probably get a pretty tight seal after removing the wing. Good luck on the paintjob, tho. I wouldn't do it. (IF IT'S NOT GLUED?!)

Have no experience, but hopefully aftermarket wings will use the same fastening spots as the factory ones?

The wings are bolted on. A body shop, if done properly, would weld in the holes, use a little body filler (bondo) and repaint the entire trunk lid. Ya, close to the same price as ordering a new trunk from Ford without the spoiler. Too bad Canada does not have the spoiler delete option, I still don't understand that. It is going to cost me more now to get a ducktail installed.

Yup you'll have 2 holes! 1 on each side. there's a sealant put around the base to protect the paint. You'll have body work, and paint if you want to fix. In the U.S. you have spoiler delete.

maybe an aftermarket company will make a ducktail ! If so, I would think the bolt pattern would be the same!

I'm thinking a ducktail design spoiler would cover up the boltholes anyhow??? Not a bad idea to fill in the holes left from the stock, but as far as repainting... I don't think it would be necessary
