removing chromed mirror covers

My car had the "Chrome Treatment" from the dealer that spend over a year trying to sell it.
On the mirrors you can gently tug on the covers until they come off. They'll leave strips of tape on the mirror covers which you'll have to use a solvent like Goo-Gone to remove.
I also had to remove a chrome fuel door cover and chrome door handle covers. THe door handle covers were the biggest pain in the butt.
