I got one, and I dont see how it even fits in the gas filler area. ?? It is too long and bulky. How are you getting it to fit in there? Where exactly are you placing it?

I picked mine up a couple of days ago....fits the gas door perfectly with room to spare:

1) Open gas cap door.

2)As I think was explained in a previous thread there are two sort of flat areas on the inside of the door to which you can attach the piece.......the piece will be vertical to the car. I actually turned it slightly further clockwise to pick up additional mounting points, and to more easily read the numbers when I turn my head sideways.

3) Clean with alcohol pad included

4) Strip the plastic strip away

5) position and attach....about 3/4' clearence on each end.

6) Door easily closes

I did think about the fact that dust will attach itself to the sticky strip....if you wanted to spend the time you would measure carefully and only peel the paper at the mounting points, but probably doesn't matter.

PM me if more help is needed

The keypad sounds cool especially if hidden, but I am cheap and have a different method of opening the door or the trunk in case of emegency. I have always kept a spare key hidden under the car somewhere. It is a 'dumb' key from Home Depot so it will not start the car and I would have to lie on the ground to retrieve it, but it will let me get into the car in an emergency.

I bought it more for convenience of not having to run inside the house just to open the doors or trunk (ie-to get a CD for another car, or to throw something in real quick). That, in conjuction with the fact that it saves my butt if I leave the keys in the car, made it worth it to me.

But the bigger pain in my life is when I don't have the remote on me to pop the trunk or open the doors, causing me to drop what I have to go inside the house and get it. The trunk thing is VERY annoying, because their is no interior trunk release. I was thinking about wiring one up, but now there is no need for one.

I totally understand. I guess because my doors are always unlocked in the garage and I rarely go into the trunk, I haven't been inconvenienced or annoyed enough to want the remote keypad. I agree about the trunk release button, we should have had one from the factory.

Do you have a cell phone with a camera? That will work in a pinch.

Cell phone....let's see now....actually, a cell phone I have had since 1986 and I even have one with a camera! Just need someone to tell me how to get the pics from phone to TMS. And thanks for the suggestion, that's what these forums are all about.

You have to send the pictures from your phone to your email address over the internet.....you do know what the internet is, right?
