Now that the cars are arriving we turn our thoughts to mods. An inexpensive one is to paint the brake calipers on the front and maybe the back to either match the car or red. Where would be a good place to pick up the proper paint? Does it have to be high temp or special paint? I have never done this mod. Is there a vendor that sells wording to apply to the stangs caliper- Like Porsche owners have vendors with there name to apply the the caliper after painting.
And while were at it what do you think of painting the under neath with a gloss black rustolium? Or at least the axle?

An Engine paint may work, you definitly need high temp to hold up.

I've used regular spray paint for my calipers, and it's been holding out for 4 years now....Just make sure it's automotive paint and you'll be fine...

I have heard great things about the paint from the eastwood company.

any high-temperature epoxy paint should last forever.

I used some paint called G2 caliper paint, I got it on Ebay for 20 bucks. It comes in a kit, and the paint has an activator in it that once you mix it in, you only have six hours to use the paint. I did the front and back calipers on my 03 GT and I'm quite pleased with them, they haven't chipped or discolored one bit and I've got a couple thousand miles on them since painting.

upstate, those aren't applied after the fact on porsches, they come that way. Those are brembo brakes, and the red calipers with brembo wording are pretty much their trademark

Yeah, what he just said. Where did you get the stickers, if that's what they are? And how do they stay so white? I would think brake dust must get on them a good bit. They look real nice though. I am thinking about doing that on my stang, but will probably just put little white or black pony stickers on my calipers instead of the lettering.

Thanks guys - yes, they are decals - you can get them off of Ebay. I've put nearly 2000 miles on the car since painting the calipers and applying the decals with no problems at all. Brake dust doesn't stick to the calipers or decals, I've been to the car wash with it a few times and not even the slightest sign of them coming off. I used a two part epoxy paint which gives a real smooth surface for the decals to adhere to.

I would like mine to be painted. I have seen it before and like it. But is painting the front and back calipers just too much? Or should only the front be done?

Does anyone know if touchup paint would hold up? I'm getting redfire, and think body color matching calipers would look great. I'd like to avoid bright red calipers with the darker/metallic look of redfire.
