the SHR panel is a nice piece for sure- but I always liked the 1969 rear a little over the 1970, and always intended to blackout the 69...I dunno, something about that little extra depth just appeals better to me...its like car colors, just personal preferences- like I've always been a little partial to blue cars...and for me a semigloss black panel on a blue car is just 'it'

also love the semigloss black trim on white cars too- dunno why, but thats just me

CDC modified may answer your question

Just a option: The CDC blackout has excellent fitment, has same textured plastic as the mirrors and GT/CS bumper, fills in the gap between the lights, and could be modified to retain the medallion (by dremeling out the ridges where the medallion would go then re-adhering the medallion). It's probably not exactly what you're looking for in that it has horizontal ridges but it seems to be the closest match for your car.

Starfire, I don't see why you don't get the original desired panel, then paint it whatever flatness/satin you wanted. Shouldn't cost much to do, and you might can do it yourself. Just needs proper preparation and adhesion promoter.

I like HR10 Hot Rod Black, myself. Right amount of shiny flatness.

Yeah Hot rod black is what my spoiler is painted, I think I might go with the stack racing black out, the honeycomb just looks to busy to me, or just vinyl

Just buy the one from your link and paint it flat black. You don't need adhesion promoter if you use spray paint specifically for plastic. I bought that same panel, but it is smoked and more transparent than i likes, so i painted it with Krylon for Plastic - got it at Walmart. Couple of coats and it looks great - I used gloss black. had it for a couple years now - no probs with paint flaking or chipping. It's a bit dirty in the pic, those aren't scratches.

Starfire,

I could make some blackout panels. See if the texture in the pics would work. This stuff doesn't fade. They could be done in .125 or less. I'd have to make a template though.

Here's Mine.

This was awhile ago. I have the taillight bezels in black installed now. In the picture show the "vinyl" solution. The black plastic bezels are MUCH better...

Check out the Street Scene panel. I believe Moss Muscle carries them.

Heres a better pick than my avatar. You will need the bezels too, to complete the look.
