quick question on front bumper
quick question on front bumper
He guys
I hit a deer last week (see Pic). can you believe $4000 in damage. Rather then have the insurance company pay 900 for a stock hood and 250 for a stock front bumpers. I have decided to upgrade to a cervinis type IV hood and and the C series front bumper kit.
My question:
My car is a V6 I know when you upgrade a V6 to a GT front bumper you have to change the absorber and the iner wheel wells I am assuming that if i change those parts out i should be able to run an aftermarket bumper that fits a GT correct?
also on those ram air hoods what keeps dirt and bugs and rain from going in to the filter and clogging it all up. Am i right when thinking i will have to clean the filter more often. If i get caught in a downpour should i pull over and let it pass?
thanks guys

For the front bumper question I would email/pm KC. When I did my V6 front to GT front end conversion I just told him what I was doing and he sent me all the necessary parts. I think it totalled to something like $50 for all the necesarry little parts.
Blustang...I feel your pain man... Hitting a deer is just a bad roll of the dice. The darn things are thick here in Missouri at this time of year and I always try to be careful, especially at dusk...
Good news is now you will have a GT front end!

I swapped my V6 for a GT front-end and ended up cutting the V6 foam down to that of the GT. Here's an article that covers the install but he made a mistake saying the GT is higher. The V6 one is higher.

When i did the front end conversion on my V6 I didnt have to replace or order anymore parts. It just bolted right on. There are some gaps on the wheel wells, but theyre not really noticeable because the tires are there.
There's a few aftermarket bumpers on ebay that fit a V6 You dont need a to buy Gt bumper to install those over.
I can relate to the pic, 2 years ago A truck backed up into my hood it cost 4,000 to fix it. I wish i could go back and take the money, I probably would have a body kit/cowl hood by now! hehe

I am actually not going with the Stock GT parts but the cervinis C series front bumper and Type IV hood. I was just making sure that the bumper will fit correctly on a v6 providing it has the correct gt parts IE absorber and splash sheilds.
