Cool Questions regarding GT500 GT/CS Rear Bumper

I just received my new GT500 / GT/CS rear bumper cover today by FedEx, and now I have a big decision to make. Keep in mind that my Mustang GT is black and I will be installing a 3dCarbon GT500 ducktail spoiler (already ordered). Do I paint the new bumper as a GT/CS and keep my side rocker panels painted, or do I have the new bumper painted as a GT500 and replace my rockers with V6 unpainted rockers? I'm leaning towards painting it GT/CS style, as the whole car is black and there wouldn't be much contrast anyway. What do you guys think? Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve, Thanks for your opinion. I just found out the Body Shop at one on my local Ford dealerships will paint it, including flex additive, clearcoat, etc. for $272, and the job can be completed in just a couple days. Not cheap, but probably done right. ..I hope. I'm finding that there's not many paint shops that allow you to just bring them the part that needs painting.

Bumper is now being painted

I took the bumper to have it painted today. The job is supposed to be completed tomorrow or possibly Monday. BTW, I decided to have it painted GT/CS style. I'll still waiting for the 3dCarbon GT500 rear spoiler to arrive. 3dCarbon spoiler was backordered, with a 'fresh batch' arriving 6/30, then it'll take some time to be painted before they ship it. I'll take some pictures after I install the new rear bumper, then again after I add the GT500 spoiler.

Still being painted

The bumper wasn't ready today, so hopefully it will be ready by Monday, like promised. BTW, while looking at the recent pictures of the Alloy Grey GT500, I noticed that there appear to be splash guards/shields attached to the rear bumper. I checked with KC at Clevenger, and he confirmed that there are some shields that are supposed be installed, even on the GT/CS. He's having them drop shipped to me from Ford, just like he did with the bumper cover. I've never been a fan of mud flaps, but these are small and look like they belong. They should also help protect the lower rear quarter panels from tar, molten rubber, etc.

Any pics of these "mud flasp"? I've never seen them on any of the GT/CS's or GT500's.

Here's a black GT500 for sale on ebay. You can clearly see the shields. Mine just arrived today. I can take a picture of them later tonight.
