Powdercoat or paint Saleen forged rims?
A while back I picked up a set of used 20" Saleen extreme forged rims and 2 of them have a lil curb rash on them. So after I have the rash fixed I wanted to either paint them or powdercoat them flat black but I dont know which one. Even after a good amount of searching and whatnot, I couldnt find a definitive answer to which one I should do. So lets hear some suggestions, experiences, etc. Thanks in advance!

I once saw a picture of two wheels. I can't remember where. The wheels were the same but one was painted and the otherone was powdercoated. Both wheels were black but the powdercoated wheel looked so much better. I would go with the powdercoat but i think it will cost more money.

Thanks for the replies. Honestly money isnt really a concern when it comes to my car. Even though im a little low on funds right now I look at everything in the sense that if its worth doing then its worth doing right the first time even if it means saving a little longer. My only concern with the powdercoating was a couple of people saying the baking process could potentially make the rims fragile or should I not worry about that?

Are you powder coating the whole wheel or do you want a polished lip? Id stick with powder coating for the duribility. But there is less color choices for it, but flat black shouldn't be a problem. Just find a place that has a good reputation or specializes in auto or marine products.

I think im pretty much set on powder coating now. And im going to have the entire wheel done in flat black. Robert(eaglestroker) speaks pretty highly of Ricks powder coating in Memphis so im going to give them a shout after I get some debt payed off XD

He has several sets of wheels sitting in there at any given time, very good work! I've seen some of his flat black to, and although I'm not a big fan it was very nice!
Look into wheel workz (spelled like that) for rim repair

That great news to hear! Idk why but ive been obsessed with flat black rims after I saw a silver Lambo Murcielago with flat black rims it was pure sex lol Yea I know where Wheel Workz is, off Perkins if remember correctly? Almost bought a set of rims from them for my 06 Escalade(RIP) but they were pretty expensive. So hopefully their rim repair wont be too costly but as long they do quality work that's all I care about to be honest. Have you seen any of their rim repair by chance?

I have and it's great. Trying to talk them into sponsoring one of our local clubs! I'll be dropping my rims off 1 at a time over the next few weeks to get them gone over. 20k miles takes it's toll! There are a few around town and they are pretty affordable as well.
