Pny Pkg grille question
I have a friend who just got an 07 Pony Package V-6. Problem is the upper and lower grille openings. The honeycomb is much larger than that of my GT, and subjects the rad/AC tubing to debris.
Has anyone done a mod/fix for this? behind the grille mesh or anything? Especially the lower grille opennig. His new toy is taking a beating there.
Any help out there??

That's an easy one.
I bought this stuff called "gutter guard" and zip tied it to the back of the top grill. It comes in a roll and looks like expanded metal lath, except it's plastic -- got it at Home Depot.

Instalation is tricky with the grill still in the bumper. (I did it that way and cut up the back of my hands all to hell against the radiator) I'd recommend poping the grill out. Cut off a length about the same as the grill and trim it down so it fits around the fog lights. Then take black zip-ties and zip it on in a few spots, make sure it doesn't bow too much. Cut off the zip ends and you're done.
I tried to cover the bottom grill and just gave up. It's a real pain in the butt to cover. No place to hook the mesh to.
The gutter guard really makes a difference in the appearence and protection of the Pony Package grill. It collects leaves and wasps really good.

Sorry, I don't have any photos.
