Need some 'retro' ideas

I'm looking for the next 'old school' touch(exterior) to add to my car. I haven't found many pics of black 'old school' cars.
Budget is somewhat tight at the moment, so anything radical is out of the question. I was thinking about the chrome fog bezels (ala official_style's car).

I'm still debating those rocker stripes(and 281 emblems)....not sure how the stripes will look on a vert though. The price of the emblems is still what's keeping me from pulling the trigger.

Are the bezels and corral all one piece? I like the spinners too...the only problem is that they seem to get 'lost' in the bullit rims. Hopefully, I'll see them in person on a local vehicle and change my mind.

Bezel and corral are 2 pieces. Note: You'll have to trim the corral to be a little shorter on each end in order for the fog light bezels to fit on properly.

I think once you see the spinners in person, you'll agree that you'll want them on your own pony.

Is it just me or do the fog bezels look a bit 'thick' in comparison to the corral?

I agree. They are too thick, IMHO.

For a cheap mod that really gives the retro look, I'd go for the M U S T A N G letters on the back and maybe F O R D on the hood.

If you like chrome, you could do the outside chrome door handles. And Shelby has some that have a brushed look if the polished chrome is too "bright".

You could also replace the GT emblem with the 65/66 GT emblem.

I've already got the letters on the trunk. I'm not sure about the chrome handles(would have to see them first). With the polished wheels, tailight trim, and chrome letters...I'm wondering if I should be careful about how much more chrome I use.
I'm still considering red rocker panel stripes like pegasusphototx has(or something similar).

+1 on that idea. Several of my friends have done this to their cars and it looks fantastic.

They're pretty expensive, but you could always get the 281 chevron badge on the fender like the original Mustang had. I have yet to actually see a set on someone car's so it would definitely be a unique mod.

I might order the chevrons to add the the front of the fender like the retro stangs and get the alumajet sheets to add to the engine, plus the mustang letters after I get the cervinis wing, the Agent 47 mirrors are also on my list and the cervini's M1 front piece and hood if the GT500 front end does not work for me

Where did you get the parts that are in your first pic. Like the looks of them and would like to get a set of my own.

Not too sure how old school this look is, but I added just the rocker stripes in red. The old school treatment was the MUSTANG letters within the stripe instead of GT300 or GT350. I think it is just enough.

A simple and cheap mod is painted valve covers in vintage colors (ford Blue, black or gold depending on the year).

Powder coating would be a better option but it's way too expensive on LI. I chose to paint mine gold.

Another retro look would be a blackout panel in the trunk. There are a lot of options from cheap vinyl (about $20) to the Honeycombe panel from Silver horse racing. I decided to go with the vinyl for now because I wasn't sure if I would like them. Now that I'm positive I love them, I will probably have it painted.

No engine bling for me. And the blackout panel doesn't work on a black car.

I was just about to mention your cam covers, odiaz.

Ira, I assume you're talking about the chevrons Danny mentioned in another thread from http://think3d.biz/index.html. If you get those, I would love to see pics!!
