Just trimmed my shroud tonight also.Only thing I didn't like about the new Shakers was all that plastic. I'm old school I guess, besides I'm sure it traps heat under also. I added some door edge weaterstrip around the edges of mine, hopefully it will help in keeping water & rain going where it should.I used my Dremel & a cut-off wheel, trimmed the shroud about a 1/2" from the edge of the water 'channel'.I left the drain area intact under the air intake tube, you can't see it much under the tube anyway.

That looks great, Larry. It looks a lot more like an old school Shaker now, and also very similar to the Shaker setup on a Saleen PJ.

Nor do I.

Now, if I swap out my camcovers, I may reconsider.

That bold move really paid off. I think it turned out fantastic. I didn't really at first that you modified it yourself. I thought maybe you bought a different piece somewhere. It really looks top notch.

Now that's the way the shaker should look. No need for all that plastic.

No doubt considering the shroud alone is $230. The scoop and the rest of the ducting I believe are under $400 in cost to buy from them.

You could but it would literally only be the scoop which would do you no good as you would need to fab a way of mounting it. You could even get the scoop directly from Ford. Here's the PT#Hood Scoop Top Cover - #3R3Z 9B633-AA

Buying only the scoop would not even include the plastic you see underneath.r - #3R3Z 9B633-AA
