Thanks. No I probably won't be reattaching the venting tubes only because I like the clutter free look. Either way the ducting doesn't really provide any HP gains.

Ohh, I like that! I've never liked engine covers myself. If you've got a nice engine, it should be visible. I think this is a mod that's in my future.

Glad to hear the good feedback. FYI-Anyone thinking of doing this know that a replacement shroud from CDC is $230.

Woof! I guess the old axiom, measure thrice, cut once, is again paramount. Thanks for the heads up.

Wish You Could Buy The Whole Setup With Out Sheild, Venting 500-600 Instead Of 800

Here's a place that sells the 03-04 Mach1 Scoop for $450. FYI-The scoop is the same size that's been used on all stangs from past to the present. So technically you could buy the one on the site and mod the shroud to sit on your engine.

Wow. It looks excellent now. It's too bad they didn't make it like that in the beginning. The original was just too much plastic, IMO.

Does the new shroud seem sturdy enough?

Thanks. It still uses all the CDC mouting locations so yes I'd say it's just as sturdy. All the plastic that was removed did nothing to add/take away from the rigidness of the rest of the system. In case your wondering the Mustang sills do not flap and or bend.

Nicely done! I wanted to put a shaker on, but then I found out it wouldn't take out the existing GTAP scoop holes.

i really like that...but its just too much money for no hp....

You should reattach the hoses, the intake uses the cold air from that.

It's 99% an appearance mod and 1% performance mod. To me it's worth every penny on appearance/nostalgia alone. Any performance gained by it just icing on the cake.

The cold air effect only works if you keep the stock airbox since that's the only way it's an enclosed system. Eitherway to much plastic which is why I removed the ducting and trimmed the shroud to begin with. In the end I'm still getting more of cooling effect than if I had a fake scoop or no scoop.

I love the look so much...I just cant bring myself to spend 800 bux on it. I'd love to get that crappy one from v6mustangstuff...butttt its odd looking...too transam like. I wish you could buy the fang one minus the hood. I love that really tight looking shroud they have.

....you think I could buy it without the hood and ducting? Should I ask them? Would it even work on a stock hood?

...actually this doesnt look too bad from the front...any ideas for a decal that would higlight it at all?

..and the underhood is cool, the painted scoop gives it a nice dress up
for 600 it seems pretty cheap and more reasonable. Someone slap me if I'm nuts for liking this

Probably won't work with the stock hood which is why they made their own.
