Body shop sanded them down smooth and then used some kind of chemical to help paint stick to plastic....No issues so far and they've been painted for around a month or so...Thanks for the props Tom!!

Back when I did paint, we used a product by DuPont called 222S Midcoat Adhesion Promoter -- basically, it was for areas where it was impossible to get in and thoroughly sand, like mesh wheels.

You spray the product on, it etches the surface, and you paint right over it.

222S is probably not legal anymore, though I still have a couple of quarts in my cabinet for a rainy day...but there is likely a similar product out there, just ask your paint store.

John, those look fantastic! I just might have to add that to my list of mods. I'm starting to amass quite a big list, and lots of pictures of what I want. June seems soooooo far off!

Oh, absolutely will. I'll be taking lots and lots of pictures during the Pony Drive (at least while I'm with it). I'd really like to bring some mod parts with me and put them on (like the mirrors, the autochromatic/temp/compass rearview, Westrenz ducktail, etc. etc) but I don't see how I'm gonna get them all on the plan.

At least I can get CDC to put Eibachs on it right away, and the sequential turn signals. Maybe I'll just go buy some of these parts now, and mail them to myself in Flatrock shortly before I leave. Yeah, that'll work!
