Flat black would have been the choice without question.
To me the black-out panel just doesn't look right unless it's flat.

I agree that the stripes down the rear panel look odd. The reason for this is that the tail lights are angled. I wish Ford would have installed vertical edges on the lights (like on the second picture). This would flow better with LeMans stripes

Maybe in 07

Never thought of that, but I know it's not what I don't like about it because anything less than 10" looks fine to me on the back. Problem is anything that narrow looks terrible on the rest of the car.

This photoshoped photo better illustrates what I was talking about. I modified the left side to make it more vertical

Mark, I see what you mean about the parallel tail light, but I seriously don't think Ford is going to change that for another 4-5 years when the next design comes out. And even then, nothing on new car designs are ever squared these days. The tail lights haven't been at a 90 degree angle since the fox bodies. I think those blue stripes look killer on white. I say get that either way. The rear windshield isn't squared either. I think it looks fine.

So everyone thinks this first pic looks better than the second? I just don't see it. :duuno:
To me it's like wearing matching pants and shirt. It just looks funny.

I can understand not liking the blue and black together. Especially if you're thinking of it as adding a color black to the car. But I think the black out panel has such a factory look to it (assuming you use flat or satin black) that it just becomes a part of the car. Like all the other black trim. Then it's just adding the stripes after the fact.

I wanted to add, IMO, the black looks racey. The blue looks ricey. JMO.

I don't like the blue. Here's a thought. Black out the back but dont' continue the stripes. You could possibly go for a GT500 look on the bottom bumper and rocker panels (blacked out also). It makes the car look sleeker (less thick).

Wicked Game, hope you don't me photoshopping your nice looking car.

I don't really like the way stripes look between the tail lights. I want 10.5" stripes, which I think look great on the rest of the car, but too wide on the back. How do you think white with blue stripes and a black out panel would look?
Also, I'll have black rims on the car next week, if that help.

(I borrowed a couple of cars to see how it would look)

I dont think it looks good. You might be interested in the Honeycomb rear panel soon to be released. Check for the thread "Anyone making Honeycomb panel"

It might work if you blacked out the tail lights. As is, the tail lights would make that blackout panel too small to work with the stripes.
