Opinion Needed for Replacement Front End & Hood!!
well most of you know my situation with my deer hitting. now comes the decison to decide the front end fate of my stang. my choices I've only narrowed down to 2!
Choice #1
Keep the stock style of the GT Bumper with the CDC Classic Chin spoiler (as I've had before)
Choice #2
Xenon Aggressive Style Front Bumper
now as far as hoods, I want to go fiberglass ram air, but can someone point me in the direction of a reliable vendor for hoods, that will have ram air compatable hoods with a whipple supercharger??? I know trufiber will work, with a small modification to my whipple airbox, but I've heard horrow stories with cracking and spider web craking, along with extended long labor time in prepping and painting.
your opinions are greatly appreciated!! I need to make a decision by Friday

If those are the 2 choices of front ends I'd stay with the stock bumper/CDC chin. I hate that on that on the Xenon one the lower grille looks like chicken wire - doesn't match upper grille. I gotta agree with the post above though that the GT500 front end is pure beauty. If I were doing a front end/hood swap it'd be GT500 front end/Cervinis cowl hood made to fit the 500. Have you checked out the pics on their website of that combo? They have pics of it in Vista Blue with white stripes.

For a hood, I bought a fang shaker(aeroform now) with the 69 type spear down the center- and got the 'non shaker' filler panel that covers the underside of the hood- looking at it, see its not really made to work this way, but all it will take is cutting down the scoop front mounting bosses about 3/8 of an inch, and buying the scoop seal to seal the scoop to the hood- it will give more clearance than stock, and still force air to the airbox(airbox kit came with it) and drain provisions are built in for all weather use.(I still might make a 'flapper' for it- and thinking about insulating the scoop and using it for the heatsink for a couple 250 watt peltier coolers/coldsink inside for REAL CAI) not exactly a bolt on thing as it will need a couple mods, but that hood with the shaker looks perfect to me- but I wanted to leave room for a blower someday, so this looked like the best option to me
may seem kinda silly with a 'fixed shaker', but if its functional plus leaves room, for under a grand(costs more with full shaker hardware like the engine cover and whatnot) its an option to consider...havent started blocking/painting yet, but the 'glass looks great- the airbox pieces I'd say are gonna need more massaging than the hood. Probably wont have them on till spring.

If you are against the GT/CS, then I'd go CDC. I've never been impressed with Xenon and that bumper confirms to me why. As for hoods, mixed bag on the TruFiber stuff. If you do a search on them, you will see what I mean. The Cervini stuff has gotten nearly all positive reviews that I've seen.

well guys after countless days and hours of consideration, I think I'm just going to go with the stock GT bumper and stock hood, and go back to the CDC chin spoiler. after speaking with several other people on the xenon bumper, it seems they too have quality issues with their bumpers and what not. also having FINALLY receiving an email from cervini's about their hoods, it pretty much came down to cowl hoods that would fit my whipple, and the only thing I would need is hood pins. i'm not a fan of hood pins and its just something I dont want on my mustang. so to compensate for what I have, I'm going back to the way it was before.
with this, the stripes will be painted, so I will be doing the entire car when its there. I will also be going back to the GT badges on the fenders, and the GT300 rocker panel stripe will be removed and be replaced with a "Mustang" rocker panel stripe that I found and liked.
I'll keep you all posted with the progress of the car when I drop it off to the body shop today

That's an easy one-- Stage 3, Haney Motorsports, or our own member Steve on ebay:

Stage 3:

Haney:

(stage 3 is cheapest around $550, but I think Steve will deal with you -- can't remember his username, though).
I want that one, too, wait til the money allows.

Dang. Thanks CO. Guess my ebay and Google-fu needs some work!
OK. I'm digging this front end. One thing I don't care for is the piece across the headlights. Wonder how hard it would be to 'edit' those out....
