This may sound like a dumb question but what bout when it rains. Would the Shaker suck in the rain that gets on the hood and drains it to C&L intake housing which could make a puddle and possible sucking in water? I know it might not suck in much water but it's still something to think about.

Nope. I've driven in the rain along with many others that have shaker hoods and aftermarkets CAI's with no problems. I've taken the car through car washes where water was shot directly into the shaker w/o any problems.

Check out this pic and try to imagine the amount of water not to mention the pressure needed for water to come throught the scoop, through the duct work and shoot out with enough force to get on the air filter.

Looks great, Kirby!

Leo and I had to do a bit of customizing too, in order to adapt the duct work to our K&N heatshield.

I love the shaker hoods. Is cutting the hole the most difficult part of the shaker install if you don't have to modifty the duct work to fit a CAI? Do you use a jigsaw to cut the hole in the hood? and did you get nervous when you began cutting a hole in a perfectly good hood?

I didn't have the b@lls to cut into the hood myself so I had it installed. If it wasn't for the cutting the hood I could have done it myself. The whole install isn't hard at all it's just working up the nerve to cut into your hood. You do need a jigsaw and a couple of other tools which is all layed out for you along with good instructions from CDC. If you have the tools to do the install your probably experienced enough to install it.

Here's a link to the instructions from CDC.

I want to do BSM stripes very badly. But the installation stories keep scaring me. Since the bumpers are the difficult part, I'm tempted to do stripes but only on the hood, roof, and rear deck lid and avoid wraping the bumpers. Would that look incomplete? Or would that look too much like camaro stripes?
I went with the hood, roof, and rear deck for a while, but finally went all the way. In my oppinion, and others, it looked incomplete.

It's not that bad, really, I actually enjoyed it, though it took me a while to complete it.
