Looks awesome! Love it!

However, I thought i would point something out. I hope its just me or the picture but the stripes seem to be a little to the right on the hood coming to the end by the windshield. The Scoop seems to be a little bit on the right side as well. I hope its just me.
That might be an optical illusion... maybe you are lining up the stripes with that radar sensor in my windshield which may be a bit off center. I checked the stripes after they taped them, but prior to painting, and they are spot on. The picture I took head-on might also not be quite center, but if you look at the wiper nozzles you can see they are centered up by the windhield, and I can see in person that they are centered right up the line in the center of the hood.

Edit: And as far as the scoop, it came with a template and I installed it very carefully. You can actually see under the hood by looking at the nuts that the bolts are centered on the hood... because you can see that there is the same distance from the framing members on each side. Thanks for keeping me in check though.

At first I didn't like the Roush scoop either, but it grew on me. And now, after installing it, I'll never take it off. Now, the next step is to make it functional...

Ian,

Looks great! Hmmm, you are making me think. If I can't swing the shaker for my 70 Mach hood stripe, maybe this scoop in flat black would work?

Couple questions if you have time -

How does the scoop come - black ready to paint?

How many inches down from the windshield does the scoop start?

How long is the scoop?

How wide is the scoop at it's widest point?

Thanks, Drew

Yes, the scoop came black and ready to paint. I'm sure the body shop did a little sanding prior to priming it, but it's pretty much ready to go. I will take some measurements when I get back from lunch as far as the dimensions of the scoop.

Ok, the Roush hood scoop dimensions are:

1-1/8" from the back of the scoop to the back of the hood (not the windshield)

16-3/8" at it's widest point (almost at the very front of the scoop)

25" is the length of the scoop (along the top from the very back by the windshield up to the front of the scoop at the opening)

25-1/2" is the overall length of the scoop (including the sides that stick out more than the middle)

I hope this helps.

Nice job Ian. I love the look. The pins look good on there too. Do you remember where you ordered them from? I have a set on mine also but after being on there for just 2 weeks I am starting to see rust! Right where the ring and the pin come together. Have you done anything to yours to combat this problem?

Mine had some rust too. I got mine from Summit Racing. I use some WD-40 on the pins everytime I wash the car. It seems to help.

Thanks Ian, that tells me what I need to know. Did not realize that the scoop was that close to the back edge of the hood. Thanks for your efforts, I'm sure this will be useful information to others as well.

No problem. I guess you could move the hood scoop down if you had to, to accomidate for your stripe, but you may have to drill into the framing of the hood. I'd save up and get the shaker. It would look a lot better IMO for what you are going for with your car. It's $800 at CDC and should be available within the month. That'll give you some time to save up for it.
