Finally got my car back from the body shop yesterday with my stripes painted on. See the "Post your stripes..." thread for detailed info on the stripes. I also put on the Roush hood scoop. It's non-functional for now, but I plan on cutting a hole in the hood and rigging up a duct of some sort to bring cold air straight to the air filter. I will be getting the CDC or SS ducktail within the next month or two, as well as some GT350 rocker stripes and some MRT 1/4 window louvers. But here are pics of my halfway finished project...

lookin good man. Gotta say, I didn't like the Roush hood scoop at first, but after seeing other scoops, like the CDC and others, I do believe the Roush is the best, not too big, not too small - just nice.

Nice color scheme too, and I hope you don't plan on changing the bullit rims, they seem to match the car great as well.

[EDIT: didn't even notice the fender ponies, just goes to show - they belong on a mustang]

Thanks for the compliments.

The stripes costed $1450 and I gave the guy a $100 tip. They cleared all the panels so you can't feel the stripe edge. They did an excellent job. And cheaper than most have had these done.

As far as the bullitt wheels, these will be staying on my car. Not only do I like the wheels a lot, but I have too many other mods to be spending money on to worry about wheels.

Unfortunately the scoop came with a template and because of the framing of the hood, it needed to be put there. If I had moved it up, I would have had to drill through the framing of the hood. I might have moved it up a couple inches myself, but it is growing on me where it is. Now that it's on, I like it way back there... makes the front look longer and stretched out.

Awesome! It's got that '65-'66 Shelby look goin on. I didn't like the Roush hood scoop at first, either, but I sure like it on your car! I also ordered spoiler delete, in hopes of getting a ducktail, but the more I see the simple, spoilerless rear, the more I like it just the way it is. The first Shelbys didnt' have rear spoilers either.

At first I was going to go for the '65-'66 Shelby look. But now I want to instead go for a '65-'68 Shelby look and take parts from all 4 years, hence the future ducktail. My license plate which is coming in a few weeks will say "05GT350" and my car will eventually be a '05 Mustang with a bunch of GT350 touches from different years.

Ditto

What would make it perfect for me would be your car but with white with blue stripes.

Great job. What part of LA did you have your car done?

I like that color combo too, but I can't complain with my colors. I got it done in Mandeville, just north of New Orleans.

Looks GREAT man!

And truthfully, as much as they F-ed up their Stage 1 car's interiors, I think Roush is really the only ones who got close to nailing it with the hood scoop.

It ended up costing $250 for them to weld the holes, bondo and prime/paint/clear the trunk. Not too much... but a $250 mistake on my part since I should have gotten my car without the spoiler. :bang:

Dan, thanks a lot. It's one of my favorites too, I must say. I have about 5 favorites right now, with adrenalin's and vegasjay's being at the top of the list. It's funny, but all my favorites happen to have stripes.

Looks awesome! Love it!

However, I thought i would point something out. I hope its just me or the picture but the stripes seem to be a little to the right on the hood coming to the end by the windshield. The Scoop seems to be a little bit on the right side as well. I hope its just me.
