Thumbs up New Ducktail

If this has already been posted sorry for the RP. Found my spoiler today. I love the look of the CDC and how it covers the third brake light, but it's too short for my taste. This one by DCF covers the light and is taller. It also appears that it might cover the factory holes for those that need it.

I like it I also thought the CDC was to short but liked that it covered the third brake light.

I sent them an email asking if it covered the spoiler holes...

... it says "ALL 05-06 mustangs' so we can assume, but I'd rather be sure.

Does it come with a CHMBreaklight kit?
It would suck if it covered it but didn't come with anything to put in its place.

I'd be curious about getting this kit... the side shot...not TOO crazy about, but I know why they do it that way.

This could be what I have been looking for

Oh yeah, no doubt. If it covers the factory spoiler holes then I am in for sure.
That's the only thing stopping me right now. I've had quotes up to $600 to weld the holes and paint the deck. Then the cost of the new spoiler and painting that too.
I'll be watching for their reply. I have sent them an email to ask about it.

Thumbs down

*****...

The Spoiler does not cover the factory holes, you would have to have a
body shop cover them.
They suggested this 'nifty' alternative to filling the holes.

I think the first time I saw that, I puked out my nose...

I'm going to email them back and tell them about all of us that do not have that ability to put crap on our cars... or fill the holes.

Well, here's the dissappointing response from The Dream Car Factory:

The Spoiler does not cover the factory holes, you would have to have a body shop cover them.
There is an alternative to this:
https://www.dcfstore.com/cart/pc/vie...idproduct=1324

Clicking on the link actually shows you the CDC hole delete product! WTF!
Anyway, back to Street Scenes for me. It's cheaper anyway.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for replying so quickly.

It is unfortunate that it doesn't cover the stock holes,
as the 'alternative' you mention is quite... bad...
to put it politely.

The ducktail you do have is great, it's just regrettable that a lot of us 05+ do not want to have this 'alternative' or
pay the time to fill the stock holes at a body shop, and risk having a botched job, or one that will not have the
factory paint on the decklid.

Every 05 in Canada did not have the spoiler delete option (this didn't come till 06)
and there are a lot of people who had to buy off the lot which had the spoiler already on, and would like an alternative
in the US.

It may be lucrative to come out with a ducktail spoiler that does indeed cover the stock holes.
There are a couple options already on the market, but only one that follows the design of the ducktails like yours and
CDC. The Cervini's does, however, it is a VERY tall ducktail and without their whole kit, looks out of place.

The one you have seems to be the perfect look/height.
Have you considered (or the company that produces it, if its not you) to have one that goes back slightly farther to
cover the stock holes?

Thanks for your time Matt,

Boomer

I also replied to ask just how far the spoiler extends from the rear deck edge. Just curious.
Also asked about what material it is made of.

If we wait long enough, someone will come up with a spoiler that looks great AND covers those holes.
This one was so close..

Matt at The Dream Car Factory says this:

It extends about 1 1/2 inches in the front (onto the trunk lid) and then about 1 inch on the sides. The Hole Filler Kit is the one that is offered by classic. We have not tested this ourselves, but it has been purchased with the spoiler we offer, unfortunately we have yet to receive feedback from our customer if it did the job or not, but it's the only other cost affordable option that I know of.

It's made out of fiberglass.

Our spoiler is our own design and is manufactured through our own avenues. The CDC spoiler is different than ours.

For the very best results I would definitely recommend having your most trusted body shop fill the holes and match the paint. If it is an option for you, we would be happy to send you a quote to install the spoiler, fill the holes, and match the paint for you. Originally the spoiler was designed to be offered exclusively on our production based vehicles so that our designs and effort would be set aside from our competition. As time went on, we realized that there were many Mustang Enthusiast out there that were willing to set aside the time and cost to have the work done for them, so at this point we decided to offer the spoiler to the public as a separate piece because if a person is that passionate about their vehicles as we are then they deserve to have the parts that we offer.

I hope that this answers any questions that you might have. We only want the best for our clients/customers.

Thank you,

I was kinda curious about the company, but I'm really impressed with the way they have responded to everyones e-mail. It sucks that it doesn't cover the factory holes though.

From what I've seen it's almost impossible to find a car off the dealer lot with the spoiler delete. I know, I went to five of them in Dallas and not one had one. In fact the only reason I ordered mine is because that was about the only way to not have the spoiler.

Is this ducktail shorter then street scene's ducktail. I think it would be cool if it not only covered the 3rd brakelight, but also was as tall and as agressive as the street scene one

Is it just me or they are WAY overpriced? doesn't cover the factory spoiler holes and is not painted to match... oh, wait, add $350 and it does..

So basically, if you order from them, and you want it to be painted to match, you are looking at $750 for a ducktail? I don't think so!
