quick photo shop of 72 sprint style stripes on a 06.

Luke I think AFBLUE has nailed it myself, that would look perfect with what your doing. And no way that looks whimpy, I think you would get nothing but positive feed back on that look!!
It's funny after reading through this forum for so long, I think I have an idea of how I want my car to look, that might be unique or different and sure enough I see someone has beat me to it and already has it. Jim BACKAFTER20 Looks like you got just about the exact setup I want on my Torch Red 05, the hood, chin spoiler, duct tail, GT300 stripe and all. Only thing more I want is side scoops. I guess we think alike, I love that look on your blue beauty, agressive but classy!!

Jason, you might have me with that pix. Does that follow the body line, the hockey stick, or the top edge of the rocker panel? Is it your opinion that a stripe should go in between body line and the hockey stick? I'm still thinking that I want mine a little bit bigger, something a little bit different from the rest of the crowd. But smaller that my original idea of 4". Thanks again, boy am I glad the vinyl guy did not know what he was doing - gives me the weekend to think about all of this..........

That follows the top edge of the rocker panel. Since our cars already have a forward slope (even the lowered ones) following the hockey stick would make it slant even more and look crooked.
I can undrstand wanting to go with wider than the original if you keep the stock rocker moulding. Notice my car has the black V6 rocker like the Shelby. That's why I think the original size will look fine on mine.

Steve,
I have similar idea for my Black Vert. When the weather warms up, I want to put on red racing stripes, but with the cutout for the stock GT emblem. The original holes in the fender will be covered with the Pony-Package running horse emblems.
What color red is your stripe. It almost looks like the Tomato Red color. Attached is a photoshop version that I used to plan the look. I was leaning toward the cardinal red color.
[/b][/quote]
Yes, the stripe is tomato red. A vendor at Carlisle cut them for me, and unfortunately he was sold out of the cardinal red. But I wasn't going to complain for $25. It actually looks good on the car IMHO.

Steve, looks good. Is that red or orange?

Tomato red. Not sure why the close-up photo looks orange.

I have solid silver tape rocker stripes on my wvb coupe. They have no script or design on them . I am happy with them and think they are a subtle touch like the ones first used by Shelby . They have been on for a year now and show no signs of wear.
