Need Tips on Removing Trunk Emblem

If I had a straight shot at the edge, I'd be OK. But, I have a Silverhorse Racing trunk cover so the trunk emblem is set down in a recess. I don't want to remove the whole cover.

Any of you guys who have removed that emblem, will the standard trick of heating it up with a hair dryer and then prying at the edges still work?

Heat it up with a hair dryer, then use some type of tool whereby you can grab at the edge around the keyhole. I forget what the tool is actually called, but it has a 90 degree bend, then kinda bends up...it is actually used for removing cotter pins....

That's what I used, and it popped right off......

Cotter Key puller.

There's a picture of it in our directions - you can go over to our "How to" section of our website and download it in PDF format.

HTH.

Sounds good. I'll look for the tool tomorrow. By the way, I still think the trunk cover looks great with my latest modifications.

Using the above method, my came right off. Even could have re-used the original but decide to use new one made by Marcello

Use the hair dryer and if you can get some dental floss started at the corner you can lift it off.

Well, I got it off. But, it was a struggle. Maybe I didn't give it enough heat. It was still stuck on there pretty good. And, there's not a whole lot of clearance to get the cotter pin puller and then a flat blade screwdriver in there. Having the trunk cover on made it difficult. I don't think I could have gotten dental floss or fish line in there. I think if I was just prying it off without the cover it would have been a lot easier because I would have had a straight shot at all the edges of the emblem.
Anyway, it did come off.
