For anyone interested in bringing the wheels out more without having to get wider tires, or if you are like me and plan on adding wider tires in the fututr, but don't feel that it will be enough, her's a pic after installing the H&R 1" wide wheel spacers...

You can especially tell a difference looking at the rear of the car...

Here is a previous pic of the rear before installing the spacers. Big difference...

Looks Great!

I've never had spacers on a car, does a 1" spacer affect handling/performance at all?

I honestly don't really feel a difference, except that I can sorta feel a wider stance when taking turns. Could be my imagination though, but you would think the wider tires, the better the handling.

See your other post....... they really look great (I didn't see this post at first).

I assume the same look can be achieved by putting on 9" rims with the same offset no?

I would assume that you are correct in regards to a 9" rim with the same offset giving the same look. I am getting a test fit of 18x10 with a 30mm offset to see how it looks.

Acadian, I didn't know you got your car striped. Looks great

Just noticed the hood pins. Are they real or stick on?

Spacers look great, but do they stick out a little? It is hard to tell from the pics.

I really don't know why Ford doesn't sell the car that way, it looks so much better with the wheels flush like that.

You can see the spacers when installed... between the rotors and the wheels. It almost looks like it's part of the wheel though. It's not very noticeable.

And adrenalin... they are real hood pins. I actually had to drill holes into my hood, which was tough. But I am taking this car as retro as I can, so the hood pins were a must. Next mod is a ducktail spoiler.

They were supposed to. The 18x9 rims would look exactly like that on the 05.

Here's a pic:

Dan -- great pics on the 18" wheels. I am still not sure why Ford just didn't decrease the offset a little and have the stock wheels fit like that? No matter, at least it is a relatively easy fix.

acadian-- did you have to get longer wheel studs?

The spacers I got had wheel studs on them. Extensions, basically. It was all one piece though, so no need to get new studs. You attach the spacers (with studs attatched on them) onto the wheels with supplied lug nuts. Then, attach the wheels onto the new studs that are attached to the spacers.

When you attached the spacers to the rotors you used loc-tite on the bolts right? I learned the hard way but not letting the loc-tite cure overnight when I put the spacers on my jeep. 1 week later one of my front tires was very "wabbly". I took the tire off and found that 3 of the 5 nuts were almost completely off the bolts.

Sam- yes, those are the factory Perelli's.

Adrenalin- yes, I did put loc-tite on the spacer lug nuts. Good call.

And I edited my previous post... meant to say no need to get new studs.
