I love that hood. I had that type on my 68 and liked the blinkers in it.

Looks great!

Here's a photo of my old '67. Not the best detail but you get the idea.

To do it, and allow for the strut tower brace and CAI, they really raised the center section of the hood.
The bottom of the reverse vents appears to be at about stock hood height.

To me it looks to be the best '68 hood rendition for the S197, but the S197 style doesn't lend itself well to it. A '67/'68 hood is flatter, and better suits the reverse vents. I can see why Ford decided to not do it themselves.
I'll stick to the stock hood for now. MRT will sell a lot of these hood though, they are available now separately.

Looks really good. As has been said before should have come on the car to begin with. Also loving the SHR louvers with this car too.

I'm more than happy it didn't come on the car to begin with.

It can be bought separately if you want it on a GT/CS

OK, good for you.

Nice to know, but no thanks I've gone a different route.

True. It would bring in some of the heritage of the '68 GT/CS, but currently the only thing that reamins on the car to even suggest a '68 is the side stripe that says GT/CS. Although the duck tail is similar, and I had that in mind when I got it. While I like the '68 GT/CS or even HCS, I love the '68 fastback GT390.

Anyway, while I respect the original GT/CS, I've gone in more of a one off custom approach of the pieces I like from here and there. Besides next mod will be a SC anyway.
