The radiator covers rub as well? I just ordered mine. Darn....I am hoping that someone has contacted the company about the issue? Have they acknowledged the problem?

Yup the rub in about 3-5 different spots depending on the car. I haven't contacted them as I've been lazy and I'm just fed up with having to send thing back and forth. Although I think 89Trooper has sent his back so they should be aware of the probelm now.

Well, I was ready to order a set after I read the first page of this thread, but now I guess I'll wait to see where the rubbing issue goes. What's it rubbing on, the hood or the hood blanket? Is it rubbing through the paint or scuffing it?

Well I don't have the hood blanket but 89Trooper. It looks like his paint's rubbing off while mine is scuffing. Although it could be that since the base color is black It's not as appearant on mine as it is on his white car.

Well just added mine, hopefully they wont rub off, if they do they will be going back to them. They look really nice, sorry about the pics, car is dirty as hell so cant really compare the colors, but the paint match looks right on. I will try and take better shots when car is clean. Later.

OH yah last picture is the strut brace, I love it had to post it again, just wish it matched the body color. May have to change it later, but it rocks, later all.

Radiator extensions

I noticed that the hood not the blanket is rubbing, I adjusted the hood snubbers up a little so hood closes tighter, will check in a week for signs of rubbing, mine is a daily driver. It rubs on the Extensions right at the corners on both sides, I'll try to take some pics.

I got mine yesterday. Installed them last night. Drove 20 miles to & from work today and when I got home I checked and they are rubbing the hood. This is really too bad. They make really nice stuff but this is twice they have had a fit issue. I wonder why they don't do more field testing with this stuff before releasing it? I really like them though and am going to keep them. I touched up the spot and then put a dab of my mom's clear nail polish on it and we'll see what that does.
The spot where it rubbed is circled in red.

Maybe a few pieces of "clear bra" material in the wear spots would do the trick?

fill them first

I primed mine with a primer/ filler this helps fill the grainy appearance to make them look smooth, so the paint is glossier. good luck, posy some pics when your done

also a side note on rubbing! I just put a piece of autobody masking tape, whem I go to shows, take it off.

Is the installation just a bolt and a push pin? Is so I might only use them when I am showing my car. I already place my Steeda Radiator cover on with velcro for car shows. I also wish they would make option for those who don't have a prop rod.

the other nice thing about these the drivers side extension will hide the purple ZEX stuff. I little more paint and N2O will be very stealthy. Except for that big bottle in the trunk.

Just clicked over to MWAG to order and the extensions and the radiator cover are temporarily unavailable due to high order volumes.

yes they are just the one bolt and push pin per side, so easy to take on and off but the more you do that the more they are going to scratch anyway.

You say they have temporarily unavailable, maybe thats just a nice way to say hey we screwed up on these also, and they are on hold till they figure a way to fix the issues some are having. Maybe they saw the posts here and stopped shipping them. Well you never know but that sounds fishy on hold for big orders.

Here are the pics of my rubbing issues:

Attachment 23522 Attachment 23523

They were installed correctly and when I closed the hood slowly for the first time, there didn't appear to be anything close to touching them. But, after a week of driving, those are the pics.

Man, it looks like it must be BARELY touching. I'll bet the primer and paint sends it over the edge! Maybe they need to redo the molds for a thinner final product. Of course that will be big $$$.

I wonder if adjusting the hood stops will eliminate this problem? It doesn't look like it will tak much, maybe just a 1/4" or so.
