Ken, removing the 3m tape won't hurt "our babies" at all. Fit/finish is great but I'm looking forward to receiving the brackets when they're made and shipped. In the interim, I'll be living with them taped on like all the rest. But unlike the others, they don't follow the pattern of the quarter window and because of that, they look much more like the louvers on the original 60's model stangs.

So order them, put 'em on and don't worry. They suit the car perfectly!!

Mark.

Exactly what Mark said. Mine are on with the tape. Once I receive the brackets I will remove the louvers, install the brackets and reinstall the louvers. If they have a gap anywhere, I will remove the brackets and then permanently adhere them to the car with a 2 part epoxy.

i bought the SSE 1/4 louvers and am not happy with it. not only did it take a lot of prep work but after paint it's still rough looking. my question, how much prep work did you have to do (i.e sanding/smoothing) before you took it to your paint shop for final painting???

They were in really good shape. Only the openings in each vent needed to be sanded a bit. The body shop that painted mine also epoxy coated them first, then primed and painted.
