Hey everyone. I was able to speak to the MRT engineer responsible for their 1/4 window louvers. Here's the scoop as to design and availability for those who are considering them.

Re attachment; Scott confirmed that they will be held in place with a 3M mounted bracket on the leading edge (the edge closest to the door glass) of the quarter window. The bracket will attach to the inside of the leading edge of the louver via a small bolt(s) which will allow it to swing away from the trailing edge of the 1/4 window (the edge nearest the trunk) for cleaning purposes. The trailing edge will be held down by a hook/loop type catch which will also be mounted to the glass via 3M tape. You'll be able to secure the latch with a small, MRT supplied allen wrench (or similar). You'll be able to access the allen head screw "through" the louver hole - making the secure attachment method invisible. There are NO outside bolts, etc. showing like on the Roush scoop. Sounds pretty neat - and fairly secure.

As for fitment, like the pictures, it will cover up the 1/4 window surround gap - unlike the SSE & others whose fitment follows the window edges exactly. The MRT louver will fit flush to the edges of the 1/4 sail panel, covering up the gap between the window and the body. Because of the flush fit, MRT will be putting protective trim on the inside edge of the louver to protect the paint.

Availability is projected for the end of March now, not February. MRT says it wants to make this thing right, right out of the box and isn't going to rush it. I still have my order in and will be waiting. Sounds like it's going to be a superior product. And what a great bunch of people answering all of our questions.

Mark.

Yo Adrenalin or Original Sin, I'm interested into getting those louvres that come off for cleaning but can't hook up with MRT. Could you guys tell me how to get in contact with them. Thanks, Jerry

Awesome news!

I'll definitely be picking up the MRT Louvers once I have the money! B)

Btw.... I was wondering.. once we have purchased the louvers.. will we be able to install the louvers ourselves or are we going to have to bring it to a shop to install?

The MRT people tell me it's a "do it yourself" install. Shouldn't be much more difficult than the others that stick on over the window, just a little more care to be used when sticking the brackets in place. I'm sure MRT will supply a template.
