Well the louvers arrived today. Pretty good finish on them. Just need to adjust the window bracket so they sit flush. Here are a few picks. For those who don't know or are jsut curious, they are made by CDC for MRT.

On each side they are off by about 3/8" at the top due to the metal bracket. Not a big deal. I found out the problem is the screw, when tightened too much, slips on the louver moving the bracket out of position. A new lock washer should solve that problem.

John,

Could you show a picture of the mounting hardware and is the hardware mounted to the glass? They look real nice . Can't wait to see your finished pictures. Thanks.

I just dropped them off. I will have to get pics once I pick them back up. The mounting hardware that they currently provided does not allow them to be removed for cleaning, unless you want to remove all of the 3M tape. That doesn't bother me because I never planned on removing them. However, MRT is shipping out the proper hardware once they receive it from CDC. Anyway, the metal hardware does get attached to the window using 3M tape and you can access the screws to remove/install the louvers via the slots in the louvers. Kinda slick.

I should mention the guy at the body shop was pretty impressed with the finish on them. Needs some sanding around the cutouts but other than that, pretty darn good.

It should not be too long before the hardware arrives. I figure by the time they are back from the body shop I should have the hardware.

Well aren't you just a special guy John. How in the h.e.l.l. did you get yours so soon. I just confirmed with them yesterday. But I'll be looking forward to you being the local test pilot. Let me know if any problems, painting tips, etc. And hopefully, we'll be meeting up soon.

Take care - Mark.

I spoke with Kim at MRT and I should have mine by the end of next week. I placed the order on April 1st. It will be nice to see them in a different color other then black and at diffrent angles. I will post pics too. Just wondering around how much I should expect to pay to get them preped and painted and if I should just get the outside of the Louvers painted silver and the other side painted black.
Also got a email that confirms that bracket thing John was talking about.
I kind of liked the fact that they were going to be removable, so I may wait to get the brackets.

From MRT:

We are getting in the first batch next week. This
first batch is not going to be as removable as later version because the
mounting brackets are still being made. This first batch will attach with
double sided 3M tape around the outside and one bracket. The brackets to
make the louver fully removable can be provided at a later date. All
customers who receive louvers of the first batch are being made aware of the
attachment change.

If you are interested in the first batch of the louvers please email us back
with a confirmation.

Thanks for your inquiry and interest in MRT products. If you'd like further
assistance, let us know.

It's truly amazing that they have managed to stall these this long and - now that they're releasing them - aren't even shipping out a full product.

I just hope they look good!
