Thinking of using fiberglass and body filler to mold the mirrors to a more seamless shape and than painting them to match the car.
Sound like a decent idea? Never done anything like this before so it could be "interesting".

Xenon has mirror covers that change the shape of the mirror. You can see them here:

The stock side mirrors are a disgrace.

I'm hoping someone comes out with Original Style Chrome Mirrors also. I am going to add small areas of chrome to the tail light bezels, fog light bezels, and some slight changes in badging to, hopefully, create a true Retro look. The Chrome Mirrors would be perfect.
Lets hope someone puts them out.

Chrome door handles would not be that difficult actually. You could just take off the door handles, sand/prep them and then spray them with some Spectra Chrome. Not sure if any of you have heard of this stuff. It's a new spray-on chrome technology where you can spray anything with this stuff and it chromes it. And I don't mean makes it look chromed like a can of chrome spray paint... it actually chromes it. You can chrome plastic, including flexible plastic too. I'm sure it's not cheap though, but here's the link... Spectra Chrome

Rene', it's not that bad I don't think. To buy the whole setup to be able to do it yourself... yes. But it says on the site that you can send parts to them to chrome for you. And I read on the site in the FAQ that where it may cost about $50 to actually chrome a wheel, it will only cost around $10 to Spectra chrome it. So, it shouldn't be too bad.

Saw these on a car at the FFW in Houston the guy said he used a lot of original Shelby parts. I know he said the grille was a real Shelby peice. I would really like to see some more ideas for the mirrors. [attachmentid=24479][attachmentid=24482]

Does anyone know if that's the CDC "aggressive" or "classic" chin spoiler on that car? I was thinking of getting the "classic" chin spoiler, which I think that is... but I don't really like the way it looks with stripes after seeing that car.

The xenon ones are cool, but for $150 , you might as well just have the stock mirrors painted?!

Local body shop quoted me $325 to paint my stock mirrors. I just about fell over. I kept explaining to him that I would take them off the car, bring them in, all he needed to do was light prep and paint. He didn't understand my surprise.

I thought my body shop was expensive (at least early on before I brought it in 5 times), but $325 is a lot. And if you go to a shop that won't let you do your own R&I's, go to another shop. That means they want to milk you.
