This is a must-do mod for them, this my second car with them. They hold up to even being hit with compressed air and a power washer. To amend the instructions, you put the three strips off tape on the mirror, trim 1"-1 1/2" from the outer piece and put it on the end of the mirror so it doesn't rattle playing songs with bass.

 

This is the BE$T Mod anyone could do on a weekend afternoon. They look factory and I agree with Kevin, an extra piece of 3M will do the job.

Both of our S197's have them. They just don't look right without them, to me. I have had multiple people ask if they were stock, but most people don't even realize they're there. They just fit right in.
