For anyone interested, the rocker stripe dimensions are as follows:
1/2" wide pin stripe;
3/8" wide gap;
1-1/2" wide middle stripe;
3/8" wide gap;
1/2" wide pin stripe.

The painter wet sanded the entire panel or piece that was to be painted. He also clearcoated the entire panel or piece after the stripes were painted on. You cannot "feel" the stripes at all when you run your finger over them.
When you look at the edges you just see perfection. B)
Can you tell that I am happy.
BTW
Black looks good too on mineral grey. Good looking stripes on your car too.

Ok, finally got my digital camera back to take the pics. Here's one after getting the vinyl stripes. They are gloss black. I am not very impressed with the vinyl though. They look fine from a few feet away and more, but up close you can tell it's vinyl. I will be having the stripes painted on ASAP. But for now, it's a fairly cheap alternative.
38special... quick question for you. You said you wet sanded everything that was being painted... did you actually have the stripes taped off prior to sanding, or did you just have the entire hood, roof, etc. wet sanded before taping off the stripes? Just curious to how extensive the job is.

Most of the striping jobs i have seen so far, I have not liked the rear license plate area, it is going around the area, I love the way your stripe go right thru it, and then the plate goes over it.....was it hard to do this, and did you do it yourself?Where are the stripes from and how much, if you dont mind me asking?

The guys who did it used a heat gun and stretched it as best he could. And he also spliced strips where it was really curved. When you look at it close, you can see it for sure. I just don't recommend vinyl to anybody, metallic or gloss. It's not so much you can see the contrast between the car and the stripes. It's just that it's vinyl and you can see the edges, as well as it's practically impossible to get it looking right with all the curves and angled edges on this car, much less get both stripes symmetrical. For the rocker, sure... but not for racing stripes. I definitely recommend getting the stripes painted to anyone who really wants stripes. Spend $1,000-$1,200 on painted stripes vs. $300-$400 on vinyl. The vinyl is only going to last a few years anyway.
Adrenalin... your car looks awesome. Can you take a few more pics when you get a chance? I'd really like to see a pic from the front/side showing the car with racing stripes but without rocker stripes. I'm assuming you didn't get the rocker stripes, right?

Davids2toys... doing the area by the license plate took the guy a real long time, and in my opinion it still doesn't look right. However, I would take what I have over having the vinyl cut around the license plate area. I just don't like that look. It costed me $300 for the rally and rocker stripes. If I knew what I knew now, I'd have put that money towards painted stripes. And I recommend that to anyone. The only good thing about getting the vinyl is it gave me a chance to see the stripes on the car first (although a rather expensive preview). But I definitely know now that I want the stripes permentantly. This car literally gets twice the looks it did before I got them. 38special will probably tell you the same thing. Also, my stripes are 9-1/4" constant with 1-1/2" between. After seeing them, when I get them painted, I'll do it like the original Shelby stripes where it starts at 9-1/4" and flares out to 10-1/2". And I'd probably make the space 2" like the Shelby stripes. 38special, correct me if I'm wrong, but yours appear to start at 9-1/4" and go to 10-1/2". That looks real good.
As far as the tires, yes they are stock. I put 1" wheel spacers on all 4 wheels to bring them out. Eventually I'll put on 255's to widen them and bring them out a bit more.

They start out at 9 1/4 but the back is 10. The painter guy thought that this looked better than the shelby lemans diagram that I printed off of this forum. Also instead of a 2 inch gap between the stripes, I have a 1 1/4 inch gap.
I let the "artist" Painter decide small points like that for me. All I told him was that if it looked really good that I would tip him 10 - 15 percent. Best tip money that I ever spent.
I am breaking necks now. Especially if the shadow obscures the stripes until the last moment. A real head turner. Blew by a motorcycle cop with a radar gun pointed at me. I had just slowed from going 100 down to about 79. He just waved at me.

I think mine are a bit too narrow. I think Adrenalin flared his out a bit. I'll have to wait to here it from him. I might not flare it, but I'm wanting them to be 10" or more by the time they get to the roof, and then down the back.

At least you can adjust and remove your stripes. I love mine, but I took the risk with Dark Shadow Grey. If I had not liked them I would have been #$%@!
Some say that this forum costs them money, I say that it also saves them from spending it on something they do not like.
