WTF is happening to this forum?
This place used to have a great sence of community, everyone tried to help each other out and with rare exception, people remained civil. It's one thing to make fun of rice, but to be excessively rude to people is reminding me of being in middle school. Now there's 10 different websites I check when I come to TMS, and more and more are being populated by people acting like trolls.

Scott, that's a great, inexpensive alternative. Can you post a little on how you got it made? Thanks.

I did not mean to be rude with my junk comment, but you could easily see the cut out and edges in the picture. Back when I put my home made rear seat delete in my car, I got comments similar. Home made looks home made. I thought opinions were wanted here.
The wife explanation may be a good justification for it though. More power to you.
It will weather poorly though, and you may find yourself replacing it on a regular basis. IMO.
I use a similar material for a job sign that I put on my car, and the edges have chipped and the surface scars easily.

On my Contractor signs I have had on my vehicles for years and have never had any problems. These are now being Die cut and I really dont see what your saying about the edges. They are perfect. I'm very happy with it on my car. After 18+ years as a carpeneter I especially pay attention to detail. Whats the wife explanation mean?

I'm Carpenter too. Being born a Virgo, I live for detail and I'm only satisfied when I do my own work. Most other so called professionals will not pay attention to detail; they are just doing a job. New ideas usually do require modification, that's the nature of it.
As far as ??? "the wife explanation"! We are always at odds with them. In my humble case, she owns the car. My ideas must have her approval. Although in the mod of painting between the tails, I just did it because she was on the fence. She called from work, questioned what was going on my end. I told her, she replied "How does it look?" I answered "It's going to be Awesome, the paint is just what I was looking for" (it has the pearl in Sunlight) She loves it.
Points being; If it works for you, that's all that counts. Most women need to see a idea finished.
The wife wins all arguments. A temp/to perm solution looks like a good idea to me. You get the real idea of what it may look like. She may change her mind and want it.
As for the sign on my car.
I remove it frequently and it gets beat up in the process. It seems to me that a temp situation would have it being moved frequently and I would think that it would show signs of this activity in short order. The area around the badge would worry me.

Quick ! The wife ain't around
Took a whole 20 seconds to put on. Of course, If I lay it out flat for awhile, wax the car first, it would look better, but hey, not a bad little mod, that I spent 20 seconds "slapping on" for the pics.
oh oh, the frau is coming, time to take it off until next time.
Thanks to Steve (aka: nyyankee), this is great quality, great craftsmanship, and looks great!
Steve - I don't want to give away your secret price. Definitly worth it !!!
Thanks
Tom

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I made a couple of minor adjustments to it and made it better. I also have a carbon fiber one coming. Make sure you wax the car. Thanks, Scott

While it looks just like a flat black paint job unless you're three inches from it, I don't like it. For the same reason I didn't like some of the blackouts shown at past shows.
It doesn't continue to the edge of the trunk, it leaves that gap. I know that's the style some like, but it just looks incomplete.

[attachmentid=36377]I love the 3D Carbon blackout because it IS thick. I didnt like how the rear badge stuck out a bit from the car. The Carbon one fills out the back perfectly. Nice smoothe lines all the way across the back. Fits flush with the taillights also. Great fit. Looks factory made. Had it painted glossy black

Buy you can see paint around the GT badge and the bottom of the trunk. It's not a perfect fit. The magnet is the same exact measurements only the circle cutout is smaller to tuck behind the badge. It also cost 150 + at least 50 for paint. But it still looks good. I'm just a nut when it comes to detail. Also for under $35 you cant go wrong. P.S. Like your rear valnce!
