Thumbs up Love my CDC Hood lift struts

I love my CDC struts. They installed easy and was very good quality. NO they are not powder coated brackets....I did not see spending 20 bucks more for that.....plus if you take a few minutes and some brasso, you can make them shine.

I also got around to installing the polished radiator covers.

If you decide you want it to blend in better you can always remove the decals on the struts and paint the brackets like I did.

traffic142, Are your Gas Charge Struts on up side down?

Any I've seen have the Thick Barrel attached to the Hood Bracket.

May not make any difference.

Nope, bolts on to existing spots.

And good eye, I never caught that. I wonder if I do it this way it will not rub the decal off???

How hard is it to snap them off and back on??? Will I mess them up??

Just get a flat head screwdriver and wedge in the little metal clip. Do the same to the metal clip on the bottom end. Don't worry you won't break it. Just make sure you have the prop rod or a friend holding the hood before you do this.

Not sure if it matters but the instructions say to put them in the way I have them. Give CDC a call if you really want to know.

I'm not sure but if they are upside down you could get water or something running down into them. Probably best to change them.

On my 2000, I had the Redline Tuning ones, and I believe that they said it didn't matter. So, I just did it the way that the trunk ones were...once again, to make it look more factory.

But, if the instructions say something specific, I would follow them

new item: hood struts from Steeda. But are they mounted upside down in the advert?

(thick part is down in the pic)
