Looking for some opinions!

Hi Everyone:

Just doing a bit of modding on my v6 and am having a bit of a dilemma. I've got these beautiful GT rockers ( thanks to Paul, delz05, for the shipping and flawless rockers ) but after taking off the stock v6 rims and putting on these 18 x 9.5's the black rockers look pretty good now. Kinda ties the black from the tires together and breaks up the mass expanse of blue. However that being said, the WVB rockers really give it a totally great, different look that I like equally as well.

Torn between two rockers............. I feel a song coming on

I guess I could always keep both sets and alternate them for a different look once in a while.

What do you guys ( and girls ) think? I know its ultimately my decision but just curious on what direction you think I should go.

Jeff

PS I just tried attaching pictures but the upload window said my pics were too big. If I resize them to the size they allow then you won't be able to see anything at all. Any suggestions?

For the pictures, you could create a photobucket, or similar site, and just link them. As far as the rockers go, I agree with you that both looks are pretty good. I liked my black rocker panel look until I got my painted CDC classic chin spoiler. Now I think I need body color rockers to match the chin spoiler. I think that it depends on what other body mods you will be doing to determine which rockers look better. If you like the black outline on the car (ala the GT500 look) or if you have all body colored pieces then the body colored rockers look best. In the end it just depends on what your final plan for the car is.

Personally I like the V6/GT500 rockers better. If my car was a lighter color I would definitely get them. It 'shrinks' the side of the car down. Its a must-do with the CDC spoiler on GT's as the side looks way out of proportion.

The logic HTT had of the use of black rocker panels is to make the car look slimmer. IMO it accomplishes that feat. If you decide to keep the black rocker panels you might like to consider painting the lower lips of the rear and front fascias flat black to complete the theme.

I liked my v6 rockers, but when the dealership body shop that did the painting on my body kit didn't paint the lower half of my rear GT/CS bumper the flat black that I wanted...they didn't leave me with a whole lot of choice. Thus, I opted for the colored rockers which have grown on me. As someone stated, they make the car look lowered, especially from a side profile if you have a Shelby front end body kit or some other kit that gives the illusion of a car being lowered.

Do what you want, either go with the blacked out bottom like the GT500 or go with the body colored bottom like the GT's. You'll figure out what look you want eventually. Me, I personally prefer the GT look with body colored rockers on my V6.

Thanks for all the opinions guys!

This is my whole problem, if you actually want to call it a problem. The aspects of both situations are very appealing. Two completely different looks and both look really good. I put on the WVB rockers for now because I've had on the black ones since I've had the car and I like the different look it gives off. I do agree with 1 Bullitt and that the black ones make the car look slimmer and also a bit more sleek looking. The lowered look also looks kinda cool.

Ahhhhhhhhh! What to do, what to do ?????????

Maybe I'll just keep switching them up every once in a while. Anybody know where I can get the push pins that push up from the bottom for a fairly cheap price? If I keep switching them I'll need lots of those and the clips that attach it to the body. The local dealer wants $2.00 each for the pins and $3.50 each for the clips. I'll go broke just buying clips.

Since it looks like you have the GT rear bumper I like the body colored ones. However, I think the front spoiler looks out of place with it. If you had the GT500 or CS/GT bumper painted like the GT500 I would say the stock rockers since it would tie the front spoiler and rear bumper together.

On that same line I think Pantera should paint his front spoiler. But his car looks **** fine the way it is. One of the best clean yet bad a$$ looking V6's I've seen.

Thanks Deric, I appreciate the compliment. As a matter of fact, painting the chin spoiler is something i've been debating alot lately. I was intent on keeping it black, and then I went with the yellow foglight overlays and fell in love with them, and decided painting the chin spoiler body colored might help my yellow fogs blend in better. I wonder how many other people contemplate body mods based on the color of their foglights lol.

Your photochop looks way better than mine, so thanks again for giving me a better idea of what it will look like. After seeing your edited pic I now know I definitely want to paint the chin spoiler. I also think that full length orange superstripe i've also been thinking about doing would look awesome as hell to.
