Look What I Got Today!

First thanks to KC for fast delivery of these GT/CS side scoops. The pieces on the inside that Ford uses to attach the scoop side out of the brackets so I don't have to cut them off. Hopefully I can get them in for paint the first of next week.

Will only that amount of tape hold the side scoops? (skeptical) I'd like a set but I wonder if they would fall off without being bolted on?

Graypny, how much to paint?

Took the set over to my painter today and he said that he seriously doubted that the tape will hold them on, so I'm going to mount them by drilling the holes in the side. One of the scoops after pulling off the protective wrap had some gouges from the factory. I called KC and he shipped me another piece today. Great customer service from that man!

As far as the paint goes I haven't asked yet because I am now going to have the body shop paint and mount the scoops and while I'm there I am going to have them install the FRPP hood pins.

I had mine painted and I sintalled them just using just the 3M tape. I also was afraid of drilling holes in my car. I've had them on for a week and so far they are holding fairly tight.

I looked at other manufacturers and they are all held on with just the 3M tape. What's worse, they don't have the grille causing an ever increasing air pocket inside the scoop when you are driving. I imagine the forces from this would be much greater then with the closed fron end on the Ford scoop.

I like the look of these scoops and I like the grille. Here's a picture.

I have the roush 1/4 window louvers and they are held on just by 3m tape. Granted they sit a little tighter into the body and wont have as much wind resistance but they have held on great. Even at speeds up to 130 or so. I would give the tape a shot b4 drilling holes in my car personally. Like the look of the scoops though have fun with them.

I am going to drill the holes. Heck I have holes all over my car. Hood pins, Roush scoop, CDC ducktail and now side scoops. I guess I'm just a holy guy!

BTW odiaz, your car looks great with the side scoops!
