I'm new to this site and have mostly been just reading about all the topics current owners have posted and people that have been patiently waiting. I am going to pick my new Black GT up tomorrow morning and have been pondering what to get on my license plate. Here in IL we are allowed 5 letters then two numbers or 6 letters and 1 number. All letters is considered vanity and that is way too expensive. I would like to get something that ends in 05,any suggestions?

Well if you name is 5 or 6 letters long you could have your name05.

Like I thought about
KERAS05
or
KERA 05
for mine but I still haven't decided yet. So you could do something like that or
FAST05
FASTGT05
RETRO05
05STANG

I don't know. Just sit down & start throwing around ideas. Maybe consult your friends. That's what I did. It's pretty cool that you guys get to pick your own plate.

Here in TN we get 3 letters & 3 numbers & we have to get whatever they give us. Or we can send off & get a vaniety plate with 7 characters but those are like $70. Anyway. Good luck with whatever you decide.

We here in Toronto must be lucky. We are allowed 8 digits.

Thanks for the help everyone.I've jotted down a few.I wish I could use the numbers first, but they have to be at the end. example: BLKGT 05. I kind of like that one. Oh well,I,m just so excited about actually getting the car it is hard to think about the plates I guess.

Good luck. I live in Central Illinois and got my new stang back in October. I originally ordered my plate with 05 at the end of it. It got kicked back. I called & talked to the supervisor in Springfield. Here is what they told me:

It is the Secretary of State's policy at the request of the State Police, that a number can not be preceeded by an "0" or an "O" because the State Police can not distinguish between the 0 number and the O letter.

Dealership did not know this -- and they had brand new materials from the SOS office in Springfield. I looked at the SOS website and it didn't say anything about it. I called the Supervisor back and pointed that out, but it didn't make any difference. However, they put in for a different plate at my request, and did not charge me extra for switching from the generic plate to the personalized plate (I'd already paid the additional amount originally, but since they kicked back my original request, they had already assigned a generic plate to me, so that meant getting another set of plates). Anyway, good luck to you. OBTW, my plate is MST GT 5.

BTW--where in South Central Illinois do you live?? I'm in the Bloomington / Peoria area.

Back when I had my 88 Saleen (in CA), my plate read, 'IROCETR' (IROC EaTeR). If you all remember, those were the years the Camaro IROC's were always pitted against the 5.0 Mustangs; the good ol' days!
