Just an update I finally got a chance to borrow the Mustang CS (Shelby GT has a CS front bumper)

I fabbed up a bracket and it clamps very well to the bumper ! I plan to have some ready to ship by end of week July 13, 2007.

The price will be a little more than the Mustang GT bracket which sells for $42.50US including shipping as this one actually requires more fabrication.

The pricing information will be available week of July 13th. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the clamp easier to avoid raising the cost.

NOTE: The sample I made uses electrical tape the final production version will not. The pictures below shows a wing nut holding the bracket on. This was only used in the fabrication of the bracket. The final one will use Nylon Lock nuts just the same as my GT bracket. For anyone that's interested you can have a look at the manual for the GT one:

Awesome Ben! I will be sure to pass this along. Mine is holding up great been to about 4 shows this season and with nasty bumpy roads and speeds of 80+ the bracket never budges, get lots of people who think it's a great product (and they end up being ****ed that they already had to drill).

 

Great to hear it Tom! The clamp style might change. I plan to work on creating a final version for Friday July 13th.

 

I know I love mine, even thought it has been a year here in MO and not one word about no front plate. Bracket and new plate is in the tool box. I drove my 1999 Lightning thru 2001 into April before I got popped for it not having no front plate.

 

Just installed my GT front license plate bracket -- fits nicely and looks good. I had gone three months now without a front plate and no problems ( i.e. -- haven't been pulled over yet ), but for the piece of mind, it's worth it.

Ben did a nice job with this bracket, and always answered my e-mails promptly. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a solution to mounting the front plate without drilling holes into the bumper cover.

I'd add a pic to this thread, but it'd look just like all the others!

 

Any update on the GT/CS bracket? Inquiring minds want to know...

 

Yep, I'm shipping my first one today! (Someone paid me back on May 25th as he really wanted the first one!)

Anyway... Once I box this up and make sure the shipping is the same I will post the pricing details.

I'm glad to see you're coming out with a GT/CS version. I plan on doing the GT/CS bumper conversion on my car in the next few months or so and will definitely buy the new brackets from you. I bought your GT version brackets earlier this year and they're awesome.

 

I have a fellow local club member who just got a Shelby GT and needs a front plate holder. Ya think the standard holder will work?

At the top of this page, he talks about his new fabbed GT/CS bracket, which is used on the SGT. If he had to fab a new one for SGTs and CSs, my guess is, no.

 

you would need the GT/CS bracket because the bumper is the same for the GT/CS, GT-H, and Shelby GT

 

The standard GT plate holder does not fit. But I have fabbed up a GT/CS, GT-H and Shelby GT that fits the front bumper.

Okay, well how about one for the roush front fascia. Have you made one for that? I am looking for a bracket, so I wont have to drill my new fascia when its painted. Thanks for any info

 

If you could post some pictures of the underneath of the roush bumper it might be possible the CS bracket would fit (it's more versatile then the GT one). But if not it would be next to impossible to make one unless I had a "test car"

 

Ben, I have a Roush on order and live in Texas so I need a front plate. If/when you get something to work I will buy one.

 

Here are some pics of the roush front fascia. It appears that the styling around that area is pretty much stock, but goes deeper underneath. From the bottom back edge of the plastic to the angled center tip is approx. 4 1/4" in length. But it is flat and pretty much like a stock gt piece the indented edge is just a hair different. So It looks like the bottom piece for the bracket would need to add however much the difference from the stock bottom back to 4/1/4" is. so in other words just measure the gt piece and add the difference to your already made gt bracket. I guess I will be a guinea pig if you dont mind making me one. Let me know if you need any other info. etc.

 

Wow that was quick, based on the pictures I would say my CS design will work perfect with this bumper, but I think it'll have to be a little longer to extend out to the bumper front.

I attached a picture, currently the CS bracket extends about 3 3/4" before making the bend. You said the Roush bumper cover is 4 1/4". What is the most important is the measurement as I've depicted on the attached picture.

Also would you say the angle between the bottom and front to be 90 degrees? As the CS would is around 75 degrees or so (I can't remember exactly what I measured)

 

well remeasured. I put a cd on top of the center crest and measured from the very back to the cd which is laying on top in the center. the measurement after remeasuring is pretty much exactly 4 1/8" but you need the gap for the plate/screws. So whatever that gap is add that to the 4 1/8". yes its like 75 degrees if that is the correct degree. It is not 90degrees/small slant coming up from back to front. I've been on vacation the last week. I can fab up a "CS one" that is a bit longer to match what you have measured.
