Let's see those painted/polished valve covers!!
Pegasus.. from McKinney....I recall losing an oil drain plug in my 51 Plymouth while passing thru McKinney in the middle of the night back in 1961! I was lucky I saw the oil pressure dropping as I was driving..I roamed the streets of McKinney looking for a flathead 6 Plymouth so I could "borrow" his drain plug while he/she was sleeping....ZZZZZZZZZ.
I left a note on the windshield advising him not to start his car cuz I borrowed his drain plug. I walked to a service station and bought 4 Qts. of oil and walked back to my car on the freeway and filled her up and drove back to my base in Sherman, Texas......never saw a cop at all...........
Sorry to interrupt the thread but that story just reminded me of McKinney. Maybe that was your grammas Plymouth or Dodge I pilfered???????????

Thanks Leo. Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Coating, FP102 Graphite, from Auto Zone. The paint scratched rather easily while reinstalling the covers, but touched up almost invisibly, and has held up just fine in the heat.
Leo, I got a spare set of covers from good pal, good friend o' mine INTRUDER today, so I should be able to get them to the powdercoater on Monday this week. Hope to have them back and on the car later this week, and will post pix.
