Jack Stand Placement Advice

Hi All,
I'm about to paint my brake calipers (G2 Red) and I've lifted the rear end and put jack stands under the axle. So far so good.
Where should I position the front stands? They're about 12" high, in their lowest position.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I just repainted my calipers over the weekend - I put the front jack stands at the very front of the sub-frame.

No, I used a bottle jack to lift one side at a time. And I put the front jack stands under the cross member that runs under the engine.

Yes you can do that safely as long as the jack's cup does not touch the rear cover. Just make sure it's centered and lift away!
