I found This 65-66 Era Emblem - Retro Dash

I got my hands on this early stang badge. I believe they were from the 64 to 65 era located on the forward fenders. Mine is now a dash ornament. Check it Out.

Thanks Galaxie. The red background behind the GT goes with the red interior, an extra +
It might be the only item in the interior made out of real metal. :-)

Nice subtle touch.

Yes. It's a '65-'66 GT emblem. (no GT's in '64)

Jason, were you talking about the suble touch to the dash or the subtle scar the passenger might get if the airbag deploys and sends that thing fly'in???

Iceman, I'd consider moving it to somewhere where it won't be a projectile. Otherwise, being the retro kind of guy that I am, I like it....but not there.

65-66 GT emblem

Gang,
I think that is the best looking GT emblem ever made IMO. Looks great on your dash BTW. I have been looking to rebadge my car with since I got it. Question is has anyone ever seen that badge with a black background instead of a red background? I swear I have seen it on an original 65 GT. Any help is appreciated.
Cheers!
IRish

I think the panel will drop down and out of the way if the air bag deploys, or else the whole panel would be a dangerous projectile. No.

Here is what I did. What do you think?

If the air bag were to deploy that badge would be the least of my worries.

The airbag is deployed from between the two horizonal panels.

I did the same thing with the wife's GTCS and put the California Special script on the dash.

Here's a smaller Mustang script by SS Inserts.
